Therein lies the risk of launching something with much fanfare on a discussion board. This is probably why the site owners have been wary of people posting links and advertising new sites here in the past. People who have been outed or are otherwise irritated have every right to vent on this forum. No one is asking for an 'off with their heads', but perhaps a better response to a cardinal rule being broken in ex-JW-land - privacy and confidentiality. The group should have been shut down immediately, rather than the haphazard response of 'well, sorry, if you want off then remove yourself please'. I've read some vague references to people inside and outside of AAWA being at fault. A statement or even better, a posting from the guilty party here would be useful so people can adequately express their feelings and the fallout from these actions. Asking who exactly did this is not altogether an unreasonable request. No real names or addresses are needed. No lynchings are scheduled.

Cowardly Governing Body waits 3 years after Raymond Franz death to publish NuLite on FDS
by Calebs Airplane inin the early 80's raymond franz had already exposed the embarrassing fact that all of the annointed around the globe aren't really "represented" by the governing body as everyone around that time was led to believe (by what had been published up to that time).
when ray finally brought this to light (in crisis of conscience), the gb practically went into radio silence on this subject, then waited only 3 years after ray's death to admit that they consider only themselves worthy enough to hold the fds title.
narcisistic power-hungry cowards!

I too doubt Ray's death had anything to do with it. It had already been de facto for many years, and now was an opportunity to make it de jure. If anything, what Ray said would have been a reason not to officially change the doctrine as it would have confirmed that what he had been saying was correct all along. My speculation would be that with the growing number of anointed partakers in recent years, the GB had been flooded with unwanted and uninvited advice from people who truly believed they were a part of the FDS channel. Some more assertive ones might have tried to get a firmer answer as to why this 'new light' was not being considered, and the GB just decided to come out with it and permanantly disconnect the anointed ones from Bethel and elsewhere from the FDS label.

Las Malvinas son Argentinas
I finally got around to watching "The Iron Lady" a few weeks ago. My heart cringed when she gave the order to sink the ARA General Belgrano, which had been steaming back into an Argentine port. 'Sink it!' I realise that this was war and there are to be casualties associated with it, but it has especially bothered me about the decision to torpedo a ship which had been going back into port and outside of her self-declared exclusion zone. 323 lives all resting in an icy grave. Her death gives me no pleasure either, anymore than Galtieri's death did in 2003. Neither one deserves comparison with Hitler, despite the numerous lives they've impacted. Hitler is in a class with Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and Kim Jong-il, and is used far too many times in modern times to sully a reputation and give a false analogy.

Alameda County Administrator makes $423,664 a year!

e hearst/common/author_name.tpl article_timestamp.tpl march 25, 2013. alameda county supervisors have really taken to heart the adage that government should run like a business, rewarding county administrator susan muranishi with the wall street-like wage of $423,664 a year.. for the rest of her life.. according to county pay records, in addition to her $301,000 base salary, muranishi receives:-- $24,000, plus change, in "equity pay" to guarantee that she makes at least 10 percent more than anyone else in the county.. -- about $54,000 a year in "longevity" pay for having stayed with the county for more than 30 years.. -- an annual performance bonus of $24,000.. -- and an additional $9,000 a year for serving on the county's three-member surplus property authority, an ad hoc committee of the board of supervisors that oversees the sale of excess land.. like other county executives, muranishi also gets an $8,292-a-year car allowance.. muranishi has been with the county for 38 years, and she's 63. when retirement day comes, she'll be getting a lot more than a gold watch.. that's because, according to the county auditor's office, muranishi's annual pension will be equal to the dollar total of her entire yearly package - $413,000.
she also has a separate executive private pension plan, for which the county chips in $46,500 a year.. "and she's worth every dime," said supervisor scott haggerty, who was on the board when it promoted muranishi to county administrator in 1995, voted for her and joined in approving her base pay and perks.. "we're lucky to have her," haggerty said.. he likens the job of running the county administration to being ceo of a $2.4 billion corporation, with 9,000 employees.. granted, the $2.4 billion is taxpayer money, and the county isn't set up to turn a profit.

She'll simply do what all other corrupt public officials do. Resign in disgrace, retire in luxury. Her former subjects will pick up the tab. They have no choice in the matter.

'The state really needs to get their act together' Words that take on an additional meaning now. I like how she just throws out phrases like '...struggling in this difficult economy'. That evidently does not, nor ever will include her. That pension is as good as gold. Good luck trying to have that one modified short of proving fraud. If this erupts into a scandal, she can just take an early retirement and refuse to answer any questions.
The 3 AM emails anecdote sounds like it's contrived only to excuse the extraordinary salary. He probably noticed a 3 AM timestamp on a couple emails. Don't believe for a second that this woman stays up that late doing her job on a regular basis.

She makes all that and only has an undergrad degree? Middle class taxpayers there ought to just love that.
I'll send emails out at 3, 4, or 5 in the morning if I can get that compensation package. No one gets that far up with so little without knowing someone or someone who knows someone. Politics.

Field service is personal ministry
by Dismissing servant ina publisher in a congregation doesn't represent the watchtower organisation (due to legal reasons/insurance etc) .
they just represent themselves as individuals.
so why are publishers supposed to hand in their reports to the congregation/wts?

There are some times I wish I can go back and use their own words against them. Since field service is not carried on the insistence of any man or organisation, I would have stopped turning in time and said that this was my personal ministry, and my time was turned in to Jehovah. If they wanted the numbers, they could check in with Him, since they are the FDS class and get direction from Him. Certainly Jehovah wouldn't mind handing over the numbers in order for them to plan on how much literature to distribute and where?

A personal ministry? Everyone who's been in it knows how hollow that sounds. Imagine if you just handed in time but never showed up at field service meetings? Would 'personal ministry' get you out of having to explain yourself in a back room? Or if you bothered to show, telling everyone you were going alone on your own 'personal ministry' business. Someone spots you in a cafe? Personal ministry, mate!

Where's Judge Joe Rutherford when we need him? He'd be positively amused to know that a few of his former disciples have taken to pointlessly bashing Babylon The Great's embodiment on Earth, the Pope.
